Cape Town is a place of overwhelming cultural differences in
comparison to Connecticut. The music, food, and art are just a few examples of
intense cultural differences. I went to the ArtsCape, a local theatre, last
Thursday to see the musical Sound of Music. I do enjoy musicals so I entered
the theatre at first with high expectations. Then realizing I had no idea how
prominent theatre was here, I sunk my expectations and was really anxious for
what I was about to see. The cast, pageantry, vocals, and music were of the
caliber that could rival New York’s Broadway production. The overall experience
absolutely blew my mind and exceeded any initial expectation I could have had.
I would recommend a night out on the theatre to anyone who is planning to visit
Cape Town. Tickets were affordable and the night was unforgettable.
